Law to limit campaign financing

Pääministeri Matti Vanhanen sanoo, että vaalirahoituslakiin tarvitaan vielä lisää selvityksiä.
Vanhanen on periaatteessa sitä mieltä, että vaalitukea voidaan rajoittaa.
Oppositiopuolueet haluavat, että vaalilakiin tulee yläraja.
Sosialidemokraatit haluavat lahjoituksille ylärajan.
Kokoomuksen mielestä se ei ole niin tärkeää.

Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen says that more elucidation is needed for campaign-financing law.
Vanhanen is on the principle that an election aid can be limited.
Opposition parties want election law to be given an upper limit.
The Sosial Democrats want an upper limit for the donations.
According to the Natioanal Coalition Party, it is not that necessary.

Change of taxation system in Finland

Verotuksen periaatteita halutaan muuttaa.
Valtiovarainministeri Jyrki Katainen esittää, että hallitus nimittää asiantuntijoita miettimään verojärjestelmän uusimista.
Katainen haluaa muuttaa verotusta siten, että pääomia verotetaan enemmän kuin nyt.
Hänen mielestään pääomaverotus ei ole aina oikeudenmukaista.
Esimerkiksi jotkut lääkärit ja asianajajat eivät maksa tuloveroa, vaan ottavat palkkatulonsa osinkoina.

People want to change tax principles.
Finance Minister Jyrki Katainen announces that the Goverment will nominate experts to mull over a renewal of the tax system.
Katainen wants to change taxation such that money and wealth will be taxed more than now.
According to him, property tax is never fair.
For example some doctors and lawyers do not pay income-tax, but they only take their salary as dividends.

Opposition criticises tax policy change

Sosialidemokraattien puheenjohtaja Eero Heinäluoma kiittää Kataisen suunnitelmaa, mutta sanoo että se on päinvastainen kuin hallituksen nykyinen veropolitiikka.

The Sosial Demokrats' chairman Eero Heinäluoma praises Katainen intentions, but says that it is against Goverment's present tax policy.
