Campaign Financing

Keskustelu kansanedustajien vaalirahoista jatkuu. Perjantaina monet kansanedustajat kertoivat tarkemmin, mistä he ovat saaneet rahaa vaalityöhön. Keskustelu alkoi kansanedustaja Timo Kallin vaalirahoista. Nyt media on kiinnostunut myös muiden kansanedustajien vaalirahoista. Kokoomus kertoi torstaina, että puolueen jäsenten täytyy kertoa viimeistään perjantaina tarkemmin, mistä he ovat saaneet vaalibudjettiinsa rahaa.

The debate regarding campaign financing continues. On Friday, many MPs say precisely from where they got the money for campaigning. The debate began with the campaign money of MP Timo Kalli. Now the media is also interested in the campaign money of other MPs. The Coalition Party said on Thursday that its party members must say , on Friday at the latest, from where they obtained their campaign fundings.

Vaalirahoista on noussut kohu, koska pelätään, että yritykset saavat hyötyä, jos ne antavat rahaa poliitikoille vaalityöhön.

China Allows Foreign Relief Workers In

Kiina päästää ulkomaalaisia avustustyöntekijöitä maahan. Avustustyöntekijät auttavat kiinalaisia etsimään maanjäristyksen uhreja raunioista. Maanjäristys oli maanantaina. Aikaisemmin Kiina on ottanut vastaan vain avustustarvikkeita, esimerkiksi telttoja ja huopia. Kiina päästää maahan avustustyöntekijöitä esimerkiksi Japanista, Venäjältä ja Etelä-Koreasta.

China is allowing foreign relief workers into the country. Relief workers are helping the Chinese to look for earthquake victims under the rubble. The earthquake was on Monday. Earlier China only accepted relief equipments, e.g. tents and blankets. China let into the country relief workers from e.g. Japan, Russia and South Korea.

Kiinan viranomaiset kertovat, että maanjäristys vei 4,8 miljoonalta ihmiseltä kodin. Viranomaiset kertovat myös, että maanjäristyksessä on kuollut noin 22 000 ihmistä. Kuolleiden määrä voi nousta yli 50 000 ihmiseen, koska viranomaiset eivät ole löytäneet kaikkia maanjäristyksen uhreja

The Chinese Authorities say that the earthquake destroy the homes of 4.8 million people. The authorities also say that about 22000 people died in the earthquake. The number of deaths may rise to 50000 people, because thet have not found all the earthquake victims.

Myanmar's Situation Worsens

Voimakas sade aiheutti lisää tuhoa Myanmarissa. Sateen takia monia teitä ei voi käyttää. Avun vieminen on erittäin vaikeaa. Myanmarin tilanne on nyt vielä vaikeampi kuin ennen. Hirmumyrsky iski Myanmariin toukokuun alussa.

Strong rain wreaked more havoc in Myanmar. Due to the rain many roads cannot be used. Bringing in the aid is incredibly difficult. Myanmar's situation is now more difficult than before. The hurricane hit Myanmar at the beginning of May.

Myanmarin sotilashallitus kertoo, että hirmumyrskyssä on kuollut noin 78 000 ihmistä. Esimerkiksi Yhdistyneet Kansakunnat arvioi, että kuolleiden määrä voi nousta jopa 130 000 ihmiseen. Myanmarissa noin 2,5 miljoonaa ihmistä tarvitsee apua hirmumyrskyn jälkeen. Ihmiset tarvitsevat ruokaa ja puhdasta juomavettä.

Myanmar Junta says that in the hurricane around 78000 people have died. For example the UN estimated that the number of deaths can reach up to 130000. In Myanmar about 2.5 million people need help after the hurricane. The people need food and clean drinking water.
